Who We Are

Dan Chapel, President of Chapel Associates Architects in Little Rock, Arkansas, is a nationally recognized expert in the field of veterinary architecture.  Dan has served as a featured speaker on topics of animal facility design at all major veterinary conferences including the American Animal Hospital Association, Central Veterinary Conference, North American Veterinary Conference, and Western Veterinary Conference.  Additionally, Dan has spoken at every Veterinary Economics “Hospital Design Conference” since 1981.

Dan has authored or contributed information relating to hospital design for many veterinary hospital design related books and publications.  He has served on the Editorial Board of Veterinary Economics Magazine since 1985.

Dan has been a corporate member of the American Institute of Architects since 1976 and is licensed to practice architecture in many states.  Additionally, he is certified as a licensed architect by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.

Dan and his wife, Shelly, have one son, Tristan, all residing in Little Rock.  Dan is also a veteran, attaining the rank of Major.  He served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserve, with service in both the Vietnam and Persian Gulf Wars.

Chapel Associates Architects of Little Rock, Arkansas, is a nationally recognized firm specializing in animal facility design.  Practical, award-winning designs have been the hallmark of this company for over 30 years.  Chapel Associates has participated in the design of over 600 veterinary hospitals, veterinary specialty hospitals, animal emergency hospitals, boarding kennels and animal shelters.  Past projects have included two Veterinary Economics Magazine “Hospital of the Year” and many “Designs of Merit” winners.
